Vitra Vcare WC inlet pipe problem.

Just purchased a Vitra Vcare WC. The flush inlet pipe doesnt seem to be well secured in the WC inlet socket as the rubber gasket is not fully gripped.

There seems to be a cut out section at the bottom of the inlet socket which seems to be the reason for the poor grip and I can't see any reason for this cut out so wondering if it's a manufacturing defect?

Photo attached. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks. I also suspect it has been used as there are small white deposits (tile grout?) at the rear and the protective film has been partly peeled away.

It was bought new from a reputable dealer,so will be contacting them tomorrow.

Vitra confirmed that it is a manufacturing defect and the supplier will replace it. Wonder if they will put it back on the shelf and sell it on again!

Not if it arrives back at the supplier with a crack in it.

Sorry I don't want to name the supplier as it wasnt their fault. I ordered from their website and they ordered from the distributer/wholesaler from where it was delivered directly to me. I'll wait for a response from them before naming names. However I guess it doesn't say much for Vitra's quality control if they are shipping out defective goods

So much sub standard gear being shipped in nowadays, check the pan spigot is round on the new one before fitting.

Your contract is the supplier, name the supplier so we know who is buying gear from dodgy geezers.

Just an update on this.

The manufacturer sent me a replacement pan, which was exactly the same as the original. The problem was referred to the factory where it was confirmed that it was intentionally made like this. The pan is now fitted and everything seems ok. No sign of any leaks.

Regardless, personally I would not accept that. All flush cones are a designed to cope with the vaugaries of glazed pottery so have a level of back up built in. This 'design' removes some of that but the installers responsibility still lies with them.
