Thinking of getting one of these fitted with a Grohe frame - the problem we have is that the wall the toilet will go on is of timber stud wall construction and part of a dormer extension. Would this be strong enough to manage one of these toilets?

has anyone got experience with installing these on timber stud walls?

cheers

The frame takes the weight, and providing that its properly fixed to the floor, and timber studs it should be OK for a normal person to use

I would have my doubts if a 20 stone plus person was to sit on the pan and start to swing their legs though

It all depends who put the stud wall in and how well they fixed it. Any small movements can cause plaster cracks to appear.
