Warm Water except when Heating on

Hi

I have a 17 year old Worcester 240 Boiler which I think is starting to cause me problems. it's fully serviced and never had a problem apart from change of diverter valve.

Problem 1.

Heating working fine but water only tepid except when heating not on. Also When heating is on suddenly it may run cold. Then it may get warm again and sometimes hottish for a few minutes then cold again.


Problem 2.

Pin on diverter value is popping out on hot water demand but not reaching Micro switch. tried another Microswitch no difference. Suspect DV diaphram (fitted only 12 months ago has gone again) but as the Pin is coming out it looks like it's working. it's just not reaching the switch.



When engineer was here last he mentioned my Grundfos pump could be on its way out. didn't explain why. But it is 17 years old.

so I have managed to pick a Brand new one up in case it is this and needs fitting and didn't cost me much so I would like to put a new one in anyway to replace the 17 year old one on it.

what can I expect to pay for someone to fit this pump ?

Does sound like the diverter valve if the pin is not reaching the micro switch. Probably a split diaphragm. Doesn't sound like a pump problem to me.

most likley its the divertor valve siezing upchange it or there may be a service kit

it is recommend to change the full diverter valve instead of just the diaphragm

I have ordered new diaphram here and may give it a go first when it arrives.

The diverter valve is right the front so don't need to remove much.
