Hi all,

2 of us are installing a bathroom for a customer who has supplied all the materials. We are installing tiled bath panels ourselves and the problem is that one of the bath edges seems to be warped. It's the short edge of the bath - when we put a spirit level up against it it bows inwards 5mm in the middle of the length. This is obviously too much of a curve to tile a panel under.

Has anyone else come across this and would be be reasonable to ask for the bath to be returned?

If the customer supplied it tell them to contact there supplier with the issues, i would ask them to send a replacement or it could make your work look at fault.

Thanks, the person from the bathroom supply company is coming over to look at it tomorrow as 'he has never heard or seen a warped bath in 10 years in the industry'. Just wondering if this happens frequently as I've never seen it myself before.

I have only seen it on the long edge of the bath myself not the short, and then i returned it as i had bought it myself. Seen it a lot on basins though!

Thanks, good to be armed with the knowledge that someone else has seen this before I help the customer out with the supplier tomorrow.

I have seen it on big jaccuzi type baths mainly on curved ones on long sides not shorter sides

Must have spent his 10 years with his head up his rse then. You come across it from time to time though as russ said mainly on the long side.

Getting it changed is all very well but it doesn't help pay your wages for standing around. Tell your cust to push and tell the rep he is billing him for your wasted time.
It might surprise you;)

Yah I'm going to have to bill the customer as I did make it clear before hand that if they bought items themselves instead of me any delays due to incorrect/faulty items would have to be charged with them. It's all boxed in now so is a bit of a pain to replace but such is life, it has to be done right.

i had a warped p-shape bath. the top of bath on the straight side to run along wall was fine, but the side that the p is shaped onto ....well the top edge was like a see-saw when i got the level on it. trouble is it was bought by the cowboy who did their extension 18 months ago and could not be returned.
not especially noticable to the eye but was a bugger to to get the thing level.

I have only seen this on the long edge of cheap baths, but have seen it 3 times this year alone, all were returned no problem.
