Went to school with a lad who's dad comes from Nigeria and was doing a job for his dad today on 'mates rates', I was just finishing up ( replace a waste on a bath, redo the battens and re-silicone it in) and this guy (my mates dad) asked if I would like a working holiday in the sun.
Turns out he is a bit of a property developer in Nigeria and is currently building a development with 10 flats and needs someone to fit the 12 bathrooms/ensuites, estimated timeframe is 3 weeks, £400 per week, flights/acommodation/food/drinks all found.
If my kids were a bit older (and my ex-misses wasn't such a ****) I'd bite his hand off.

The pay isn't that good, but I'd do it just for 3 weeks in Nigeria all found if I could.
Anyone else got any random job offers like this?

I had a job offer in Canada a few years ago. It was just when the ex wife and I split. But I could never leave my kids. Not a chance. I don't even miss a single bath time and bedroom story. A big regret of mine is that I didn't do more traveling when I was young and carefree. I'd say if you get an oportunity for an experience like that grab it with both hands.

When I were on BT and did a lot more besides plumbing I was commissioning a diesel generator alongside the engineer from the company that supplied it. He tempted me with 6 months work in Saudi for quite a lot of money.

But I had a young family then and I didn't know what would happen when the 6 months were up. Nice dream while it lasted though!

I have some mates who are scaffolders they had a job over on a private island in the Caribean it was a 3 week job just putting the scaffold up (You can imagine the size of the house) so they went over and worked 2 weeks solid and spent the last week on the lash. Then they had to go back a few months later to take it down so did the same. They said it was great the only problem was working in the heat was unbearable but they got 2 weeks holiday and got paid for it as well.

I was going to emigrate to Oz, but my mrs is convinced it's made of spiders.

Ive got a job ready and waiting in oz if I want it, my mates over there in the mines and can get me straight in with him, but your wifey is right, its made of things that can kill you :)

seriously though, working abroad is not for me to be honest, the only real thing that would sway me is cash, but I'm doing alright here, so ill stay :)

£400 a week? Is he having a laugh for working away from home

12 bathrooms in 3 weeks, 400 a week, that means 3 bathrooms a week or 100 pound each bathroom! No thanks!

Agreed with the comments about pay, it's too low, but I'd be in Nigeria for 3 weeks all found on top of that.
To be honest, I think that if I was in a position to do it - I would. Not for the money as it's a **** take, but for the experience.
Would be nice to be able to say 'this time last year I was fitting bathrooms in Africa'. Even if it wasn't all that lucrative ;)

I've just checked my e-mail and can earn about £1million from Nigeria and not leave my lap top!
