Hello, I am new here so I hope this is posted in the correct forum. We have 1) noise from our washing machine when drawing water from mains and 2) a chugging noise when we flush our toilets.

1) We had a new washing machine last year. Our old one never made the noises as this one which is like a pulsing sound and the pipe into the washing machine pulses too. We had a person from the washing machine maker came out as the company who installed it had not used the correct hoses which were supplied with the machine. The person from the WM maker has made the pulsing noise lower, however, since then we can now hear the washing machine drawing water from mains the noise can be heard in the bathroom, upstairs toilet and back bedroom which we couldn't before they sorted the hoses out. The water pressure into the house we have been told is quite high. Can anyone advise what this is and what we can do as the maker will not send anyone out to help us with this as they say the machine works and there are no issues even though this noise wasn't there before hand. It's not a noise from the machine that we can just generally hear around the house as it's a very quiet washing machine when on, however, it's when it fills we can hear it upstairs which we couldn't before (it sounds like the bath is making a noise and the walls of the toilet too!)

2) When we press the flush on either the upstairs or downstairs toilets they now make a chugging noise when they are full. it's quite an abrupt sound and is very loud. they never did this before we had someone out for the washing machine as reported above and the person looked at our internal stopcock. the force of the pressure of the water coming through the stopcock has been lowered (to half a turn) because the pressure is quite high, however, the chugging remains even though we have had this done. We have been told we don't need a water pressure reduction valve by the people who maintain our central heating as it could cause other issues (see our other post in CH forum about that.) Can you please help?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I suspect you have an airlock or loose pipes then.
