My friend lives in a ground floor flat that recently had a problem with blocked drains. When the washing machine drained the standpipe would fill. I checked the trap and its all clear. The maintenance company have said he needs to check the "stack clip" and that a plumber could check the discharge pipe with a cable machine.

My first thought was that when the sewer backed backed up its blocked his discharge pipe, a lady in another flat complained of sewage coming through her sink.

Any thoughts on what it could be and what a stack clip is? I did some checks and cant find out what it looks like

Thanks :)

never heard of a stack clip. poke a coat hanger down the drain pipe and see if you can find a blockage.

Maybe he means a boss connection(stack clip)
