Anyone used one?
Got a job on Thursday where this would save me a lot of time if they're any good.

May lead to blockage/call outs at sometime in the future. Except you have to, I'd not use it. But as a last resort, well, yes, BUT WHERE IS THE TRAP????

Iv used a couple... Seem abit gimmicky but no callbacks! No trap needed, it as a single check valve built in to prevent smells & water back the wrong way!

Well here's the thing, they bit my hand off when I gave them the price and I had factored drilling through from outside to fit a new standpipe. If this saves me having to do that then everyone's a winner.
I'll stipulate that if there are any problems from this in future I'll come back and fit a standpipe f.o.c. (they've already paid for it)
Thanks for the info re the bult in check valve, that swung it for me, I'll go with this and see how it is.

You dont neccasarily need a trap as washing machines are trapped in the sump and most also have a non return flap on pump outlet

Just make sure as good practice you ensure it is attached on top of the connecting drain pipe

if you have priced for putting a new pipe and drill through the wall stop being lazy and do it no need to go back and re do it once they have problem

As a above if you have priced to do it that way then do it.

Bugger that... If there an 1 1/2 pipe under the sink may aswell adapt on to it ;)

I've used these meny times in the past (Over 10 years) never had any problems, Don't use them for every job, but living in this area , at times your faced with 2' to 3' granite walls

Used a few times not had problems. Or you could change sink trap for one with 2 nozzles

Some may call it lazy, others may call it conservation of energy :)
Pretty much everyone who has commented and has used these before says they have had no issues. I'm happy with that.

But they don't charge for drilling and installing a stand pipe :D

True, I factored in the possibility that I 'may' have to do that so priced with that in mind, I was also toying to see if I could replace the current spiggoted section of the waste with a twin spigot section from a McAlpine kit but because of how cramped the top section of the unit is I really think that the kit pictured above would be the best solution - if it saves me some time without affecting the outcome of the job then mange tout Rodney, mange tout :)

As long as you charge for that and not the stand pipe and drilling through wall that's ok
