Waste pipe advice please

I have an old problem to sort out, a sink with an solvent weld imperial size pipe which is a 90 deg bend sticking out of a wall it needs to have a length of straight pipe to reach the gully.
Of course a new 32mm pipe will not insert into the male bend, would a compression fitting work (40mm) if I fattened up this pipe to align outside diameters, or would a 32mm fitting manage to get over an imperial female collar?
Did think of grinding down that new 32mm pipe to see if it would insert but unsure how much is needed to remove or viable.

No not in mind of changing complete waste outlet just for a silly bit of pipe (yet).

I have on occasion warmed up plastic pipe and swaged it out to make a female type fitting, so something like that might work

Does the outside diameter of the bend fit inside a 40mm compression fitting? I have done this before, then just 4omm pipe in the other side. If necessary wrap electrical tape or similar around bend to bulk it up, but compression covers a reasonable range by itself.

Would you adam and eve it, a 40mm compression fitting fits beautifully on the socket of a 32mm solvent fitting. Handy tip to know that is.
I just tried it and it's very snug, not tested it but I'd be confident that would hold water.

Did you file off any moulding markings first.

It’s an oldie but a goodie, no filing just allow the rubber to do its job - don’t graunch it up. What’s improper about it if it doesn’t leak? Not often required but has got me out of the poop once or twice.

Thanks for those hints and tips, I did wonder if a 40mm compression fitting would fit over 32mm sockets (old and new)as for my bit of pipe could just glue on a pipe coupling which I have handy. Its only a short length outside under no pressure other than gravity, just to stop that spray factor........
