I have a customer that has had 2 main drain blockages due to another problem. Whilst they were blocked the main soil stack started to fill with waste which back flowed along the 1 1/2 waste pipe and came up into the sinks.
The mains will get sorted but I would like to know if there is an in line check valve for the waste pipe to prevent this happenning again, the 1 1/2 waste is about a foot above the ground, it then passes through 2 x 90 degree bends before entering the main stack near the floor.
It seems strange that the bottom of this stack took ages to unblock which may also need investigating, it would have been great if they fitted an access point!

I did think of one of those but thought it was for anti syphoning only, will get one and give it a try - thanks!
