Can anyone help please when I run the tap in the bathroom a ticking noise comes from the waste pipe what do I do

Is it when you run the hot tap only, sometimes it can happen if the waste pipe has no room to expand.

Either that or have you recently had an alteration made and now this noise is present?

Been doing it for a while had a new kitchen a year or so ago not a new build about 15 years old

Was going to suggest it was tight to some wood somewhere and the expansion contraction is transferring. I usually wrap pipes with either DPC or felt wrap to prevent it but unless you can access every part of the pipe run this may be something you have to live with
