What a plonker. Although I wouldnt mind earning the money he seems to get.

Poor old Rodney...

£2,500 to wire up a boiler and cylinder that he messed up in the first place.

AND did you see the state of his soldering. :6:

5.5k for a sabre boiler and small unvented cylinder. £85 call out, £150 to change a thermocouple on top of the call out lol.

If I could get away with these charges I wouldnt have to worry about looking for work, advertising etc. Get a weeks work every now and then and you would still be loaded.

"system is all scaled up! you tell it is because the heat exchanger is brown and not silver like it should be!!" :uhoh2: now i feel bad for leaving so many customers with scaled up boilers over the years

With his prices, he's certainly not poor!

What a piece of scum. No wonder so many people don't trust tradesmen. Gives us all a bad name.

I knew this would be on the forum somewhere.

First of all, its not a surprise to see plumbers getting it in the neck again!

Secondly, why does the the presenter refer to his company 'as a one man band' I can only presume that its because if there is more than one person in a company then there are no rip offs, I mean none of us go to a house where a large company is charging £600+ for a power flush.

Third, If a customer knows before hand that there is a £85 call out charge + parts then why is that a rip off that is just expensive! surely, the customer has said 'thats ok, come round anyway'

Fourth, If a repair is £250 or £1500 and the customer knows this beforehand, then the customer has a choice, say 'yes' or 'no, I'll get a second opinion'. I think a rip off is when you quote a job for £250 and present the customer a bill for £1500!

BUT:

Having said that there is no excuse for appalling workmanship and trying to charge extra to sort out electrics that should have been done is totally 100% out of order.

Lets have a program on how much lawyers, dentists, private doctors charge.

I noticed that as well, he kept saying ltd, then saying one man band after it, as if it is rogueish to be a one man band and limited company.
Really starting to lose the plot with these rogue traders, cowboy trap etc.

It is about time we had a rogue customers show!
