Lads, I recently got a new heating system installed - a Bosch Systems boiler. I also got 3 new vertical rads installed.
The problem - there's constant water dripping inside one of the vertical rads. I've tried bleeding it, but only water comes out. No air at all. I've emptied a few cups of water from the water to see if air is trapped in the water, but with no success. The system was topped up with water after doing it. How can I get rid of the dripping water sound? Many thanks for you help, Gareth.

Gareth51,Without hearing the npise its hard to say. Lots of things can sound like dripping water. Are you sure their isnt a leak on the pipework close to the vertical radiator? Sometimes a bit of muck or solder inside the radiator can rise and fall when the heating is on and the pump is turning, this some times sounds like dripping. Also pipes fitted against other materials too tightly can make ticking or dripping like noises as they expand and contract with the varying temperature of the central heating water. Trvs can sometimes make strange noises too. Sometimes holding a screwdriver against a pipe or a radiator with the handle pressed just before your ear will allow you to hear better what the nouse is or pin down where it is coming from works like a crude stethoscope.

Gareth some of these rads need to be filled up very slowly and let the water in from one side and bleed out of the other to stop air getting trapped in the columns, try turning off both sets of valves draining the rad and filling up again by opening one side and bleeding from the opposite side

Thanks for the replies. It's definitely air in the rads. It's not a dripping leak type noise. Destroyer2813, if I drain the rad by removing a good few litres from the bled valve, would I need to add inhibitor? ie when do you need to top up in inhibitor, when removing water from one vertical rad or just a dozen rads? Thanks.

Often air seems to be trapped in vertical radiators. Try turning all other rads off & running heat for a while to see if that helps.
You can also have a steady creak where rad & bracket touch.
TRVs can make a noise like grit hitting the rad, usually when the room is up to heat & the Trv is closing itself nearly off.
I have seen a new oil boiler with a tapping noise inside it's shell when it was heating & it had to be replaced, so it is possible the radiator is faulty, so don't rule that out.

Lads, thanks for the reply. I definitely think it's water in the rads, not noises from the trv's or anything like that. I'll try to run the heat for a while while turning off the other rads in the house. I had the same problem with another few vertical rads that I got installed, but I managed them and air came out with the water - they are silent now. But the one I'm mainly talking about is a complain in the neck! Do I need to add inhibator after removing a few jugs of water from a rad? Or just when replacing water in a number of rads? Thanks.

I have fitted Italian designer rads before that were specific on which tappings were used for the flow/return ect. Have you checked the installation instructions ?? Maybe air is trapped that cannot escape
