Hi

I think I might have a water hammer- when I flush the toilet or close the bath/ kitchen tap too fast I hear a ‘thunk’ sound.

We have a pressure limiter at the main- limits the house to 3 bar. The water softener likely takes this down a bit further.

Do I need to be worried? Given the fittings for the toilets are both cased in tiles (and only been there a month or so) I don’t really want to rip them all out just to but accumulators in.

thoughts?

For now I wouldn’t be worried, but loose pipes can cause fittings to leak. Quarter turn taps are supposed to be turned off gradually, hence the hammer. As for your float valve check the washer and also check your stopcock is open fully.
