Water Leak Vailant ECOmax 286 EH

I have a leak on my Vailant. It appears to be coming from the bottom of the combustion chamber.
I didn't want to go poking about inside without some advice.

Is it likely to just be a seal on what I assume is just a sensor cable or should there not be water on the other side of there anyway.

Hi .
Get a GSR engineer to look at it asap, quite a few things possible.
It could be a water leak, if on the heating side you'd be filling it up regularly. soft hoses favourite.
But if the pressure gauge isn't dropping it could be on the mains water.
Or worse...
The burner gasket could have gone,causing excessive condensation & fumes escaping, if so likely to melt certain components.
If theres a stain from the rear of the heat exchanger chamber down the back casing , the plastic flue hood connector has probalby split.
Seriously get an expert, don't remove the case

My moneys on the ridiculous rubber hoses. The mod kit pipes are far better

My boss's husband is a GSR engineer I am going to try and get him round on the cheep.

The rubber seal will definately be changed but it seems
worst case senario that the water circulating within the
combustion heat exchanger a leakage/crackage has occured
hot water dripping onto the lower casing & finding another weak point to seep through. how old is this boiler?
when NOT using the boiler,if you were to take the front
casing off you will find that there is built up of water.
better still looking thru the round window might help
if you are not competetant to carry out consult a
appropriate tradesman

Boiler is a 97 model.

Cheers for the advice. Leak was coming from the Sump? Engineer replaced the seal. Job done.
