hi,
i have asked the customer to get the water board to give her a flow rate and they gave her "the available water pressure is 4.5bar. in a 32mm pipe (28mm internal diameter) The engineer said that the distance from the mains to the meter would be approx 4m and that this would enable you to establish projected flow rate"

does anyone know the calculation for this please.

i wanted the flow rate at the meter due to the fact that the existing main is a very old lead main so obviously i would not get a correct rate in the property. i have asked the water board many times on other property's to give me pressure and flow at the meter and always got the info so i can design system around whats available. for some reason they cant give it to me this time only the info above and they cant tell me the calculation either because they say they don't know, so i was just seeing if there was anyone on here who is clever enough to know the answer

Why ? do you need this info..........its not another highflow combination boiler
question is it.....like 5 bedrooms 3 ensuites etc and you want to burden them with
a combi........please elaborate (they cant touch for elaborating in public)

centralheatking

AW is spot on - flow rates from the mains water supply are also dynamic
ok you might get 12 ltrs per min at 4.00am but what happens to the £1500 combi in high summer ?

when you neighbour (who is not on a water meter) is hosing her garden down 24 7
no flow nothing........all based on practical experience .......centralheatking
flow rate will need to be measured, you could have 4.5bar and a poor flow rate or a great flow rate. pointless knowing a projected flow rate, you want the actual flow rate.
