Hey all

I am not a plumber so I will keep my opinions to myself :)

In my flat the water heater is under the kitchen sink and is also connected to the bathroom. For the last 24hours when I try and use the cold kitchen tap is turns a little but jams. To get this working I have to run the hottap at full whack until you notice the stream of water drop - then turn on the cold. when this happend the cold tap in the bathroom still functions normally.
Dont know if its a problem but the hot tap turns clockwise and the cold tap turns anti clockwise. Also intermittantly the temperture control in the shower fails to work at all. resulting in extremely hot water or etermely cold water.

what the likely cuases of this and is it a commonish problem? Seems to be a water pressure issue to me but like I siad Im not a plumber

the taps turning different directions is (presumption) due to having 1/4 turn taps, this is normal.
so the issue is the cold tap, but it works when the pressure is dropped.
Sounds like you need to get a new 1/4 turn valve fitted to the cold tap.

thanks for the reply
From my limited knowledge and the research I did, I thought this was the case.
Wasnt sure about the hot tap contributing though as nothing was mentioned anywhere.
Thanks again for the help
