Quick question hope someone can help. Just had a call from a man asking me to fix the following...he has got monobloc taps in his utility room and kitchen, he lives in a bungalow and has low water pressure. He had a plumber come in a few weeks ago who connected the taps to the power shower. Now the Taos in utility room and kitchen come out really fast but the rest of the house all taps have a trickle. What would need to be done to rectify this problem, please also when taps in utility room and kitchen are on it makes really loud noise. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

are they on private water suppy ? if not, have they got permission from water company ? this is usuallly a no no as pump will rob supply from other houses, the plumber who installed it should be reported, pump should be supplied from cwsc and hwc. the shower pump is designed to supply shower only and could burn out. they need a whole house pump to boost supply, which takes supply from a tank imho

how do they heat their hot water ?

I can't believe a bona fide plumber did this. The shower shouldn't be connected to mains or taps, sounds like a John Wayne job.
As dancinplumba says the only answer is a whole house pump.

Thanks everyone. I am still very new to this and appreciate your help. I was under the impression that it should not be connected to the shower also. I am going to call round tomorow and have a look. My first thought was to install a whole house pump, but wasn't sure. I will talk to the customer tomorow and let you know what the outcome is.

A bungalow with gravity supply, should have similar pressure as a house if the cold tank is in attic. You would normally only need a pump for powerful shower(s), or if attic was converted as the hot would need pumped even if the mains was strong enough for cold supply.

Ok, went to see the man today, he had perfectly working taps until he connected new taps up and then He lost hot water pressure. That's when the other plumber then connected it to power shower. So now he has extreme pressure in all taps hot water and dribble from all cold water taps!!!!!,
