Water tank pump housing cracked

Hey all!

Our water tank pump has been turning off and on by itself and not switching on when needed.

Upon investigation, there appears to be a small crack in the water pump metal housing that is leaking a tiny stream of water.

Would this cause the pump to keep malfunctioning?
If so, are there any solutions to fixing the issue?

Solution: Replace pump.
Obviously something majorly wrong if the metal housing has cracked and leaking.
