What do you use as in a little connector to be able to get your multimeter to read the voltages. I couldn't get my prongs in the connector on the end of the fan.

Any way, the fault I have is intermittent. The blue light flashes fast but with no lockout. It says in manual volatile fault. Check thermistor and 240 at fan. I couldn't get my prongs into read the voltage but I was getting 240 v at the fan point on the board. If you reset it, sometimes it runs ok for a few days and others you need to press the reset button about 10 times before it works. I believe the fan is the issue. Will pushing paper clips in be alright to get a reading at fan

Didn't WB produce a wee test connector to go between the pcb and the plug?

I did ease it back but I still couldn't get my pins into it. The card thing only connects the bottom connector so doesn't tell me if the harness it fan has continuity

fit the other end onto the card and your testing the whole harness and fan

I think Mutley was talking about the 24 I not the Greenstar models which you can get the card for.

Here it is:

I have those cards, as kev the gas has said, does it do the junior boilers? Not much help with the fan as there is no fan connection. And it is a live test so wouldn't want to hold that card on a live test now

Actually I believe they do do them. When I did the cdi course and got the card, the guy said I didn't have to bother with the juniour course as all of it was pretty.much the same

Ye, there's the standard efficiency jnr with a twin pass heat exchanger and then the Greenstar one that is much more common. Both terrible to work on imo.

I bought one of those cards on ebay. I think it was a fiver as last course they'd none left but as of yet I haven't used it but a real handy bit of equipment to have.

I used mine yesterday to test the resistance on the gas valve coils. You can do it without the card, but it does make it easier. Bottom coil was shafted.
