what the smell is, the same as 100% of every other washing mashine in the land, it is a sump thing.
when the machine has not run for a while, like a week, they smell of rotten egg. if you pull out the grey pipe and snif you will see what i mean.
you will smell it also in the drum itself so no check this and that will make a blind bit of difference.
the only way to sort it is, if your going away wash a rag in vinigar and lemon, fill the mashine up with water again then drain of.
there you have it.
or just put up with it unless you get home and do a wash with old towels etc your first wash will have a bit of musty smell to them.
whats really amazing is, i dont know how our w/m works atall, but i have a very good engineer and she knows all about it. lol.
