Hi I have a loose toilet seat and when I tried to tighten well nuts one of them won't tighten. Is there anyway to replace these well nuts or am I doing something wrong??

Sorry, whats a well nut?

One thats not sick :) Sorry, don't know.

Are we talking the nuts that go onto the bolt that goes through the pan? Are they steel or plastic.

If you can get them off you can always drop into a plumbers merchants to see if they have anything.

Just googled well nut and it`s a fixing for back to the wall toilet pan.
It`s a 2 part fixing and it`s on fleabay for £4 & free postage. Being a M6 thread I guess the thread has stripped on one of the parts.

A hardware / ironmongers store would probably be a better bet..

You have a rubber bush that expands as the screw is tightened so it could be a stripped thread or the rubber bush is worn and not gripping inside the blind hole. If you can remove it and degrease the rubber and the hole it fits in it might then work but for £4 I`d just replace them both.
