I know this was asked about 8 years ago, but thought a lot can change in 8 years, with new members etc. I also didn’t think to search for it when I was last here.

I’ve been using an array of shaving creams and soaps, some good some terrible with a shaving brush. I’ve also got 3 safety razors, including a Muhle R89 (handle thread has now gone faulty), a merkur open comb and a Fatip open comb. I also use the body shop shaving cream (fantastic imho) along with the body shop post shave gel (again fantastic).

I did try electric shavers, but they didn’t seem to rid much stubble. Whereas I’m getting a decent shave with above.

Just thought I’d ask what you guys use?

Been there, done that...a vintage GEM G-bar is my go to razor.

I've never counted how many razors are in my mantique collection but it's more than errr 50 probably less than 70.

I did consider these a while ago, but heard mixed reviews, so decided against it.

The G-bar isn't that special tbh Aquarius and cheap as fries in the U.S. Got into using S.E s and never bothered again using a D.E. again as the GEM S.E blade seems to suit.

I looked at the razorock hawk v2, but couldn’t make up my mind with that either, I’m really fussy and really tight with money 😂 . I get hit and miss shaves with the Fatip piccolo.

Tight and fussy is never the best of combos ;). Tbh I own mostly vintage but I remember the fatip being too aggressive for my liking. There are a few forums that like to chat about these things and watch videos of blokes shaving, not my scene but a useful resource.

Blimey, I need to take this more seriously...I get whichever Gillette/Wilkinson/Bic triple etc is half price - there is always one of them.
“Hair” gets a quick ‘2’ all over every so often.
I’m hoping my two early twenty sons might move out at some point, so I don’t want to look too good - I want the girls to go for them!
