What inserts 10mm oil line

hi guys what inserts do you use on 10mm oil line any particular make/brand also what fitting as I know some 10mm stuff is not great cheers

Merchants around me don’t sell inserts for 10mm copper.
(There is of course the plastic oil lines and inserts specifically for those)
Fittings are just whatever I can get and generally not great quality, but do the job.

The brass bullet ones are for copper, there is probably more oil round me than gas so everywhere stocks them.

Strangely my region has lots of oil systems, but a lot of merchants won’t stock them.

I buy 10mm inserts from heating world of spares. They are brass and good quality. They are for copper pipe only.

Screwfix stock oil plastic pipe and inserts, never used inserts in copper. I will try the inserts from the plastic pipe in some 10mm copper to see if they fit, I would think they are smaller in OD though.

The plastic pipe inserts are for plastic pipe only you need the bullet ones in copper. You should be fitting them unless you use flanged fittings.

Yes on oil it is a requirement.

I was taught it when I did my oil then the oftec bloke asked about them. It is in the oftec manual

I wouldn't want to try and make an insurance claim without one in.

All it takes is a slight knock and they leak. My last oil course I did with a couple of lads that specialised in oil clean ups and they said the average cost was over 100k and without the inserts it would be highly unlikely that your insurance would pay out. .

Insurance companies do not as a general rule refuse to pay out, they may reduce the amount claimed, but can't refuse to honour their commitment to insure a property, it is up to the owner to ensure the property conforms to the legislation, not to some third party recommendation, they can refuse to pay out if they can prove that the insurance documentation was falsified when filled out.
