Hello

I'm experiencing a strange issue here.
I live in a flat which has water tank with immersion heater + electric shower in the bathroom. I only turn ON immersion heater when I want to have a bath so 99,99% of the time the water from the taps (kitchen + bathroom) is cold.
Today I have noticed that it's hot and the water tank is hot as well! However the immersion heater is definitely OFF and I know it because whenever I turn it on, there is a characteristic sound inside the tank.
My electric shower has recently been replaced, but it might just be coincidence.

Any ideas what is heating my water??

Many thanks

Well I can't really tell to be honest , but my windows are still single glazed ! So must be "older" what if I shut the mains ,wait an hour and see if the tank cools down, if yes then it must be the immersion heater

Because I don't really believe that my immersion heater has low tariff option

bit of a long shot but could you post a pic up of your cylinder and immersion

Can you post a picture of the electric shower in the bathroom and shower isolator switches, and the consumer unit ( fuse board) and the fuse for the shower inside the board. My guess is that the shower wiring is the problem. Out of interest was the shower replaced by a qualified man? Are you a tenant or an owner?

When you say the water is hot do you mean over 60 deg or just warm?
