Evening all,
Having a senior moment and can`t remember, is it sytronic, systrumic, and secondary where does the "bomb" sit? Is it between the cistern and the pan?

Would it be possible for somebody to replace a cistern syphon valve and not realise or remove the bomb and what would happen / not happen to the water level in the pan?

Thanks.

It's syphonic mate. :50:
If the bomb is not fitted correctly, or damaged it will flush most of the water straight into the pan. Also, will not syphon.
the bomb fits normally into the syphon and has a washer that seats onto the pan

Thanks for that Chalked, in my defence it`s been a long sticky day (working in attics) and it was the last job. So would the water stay very high in the pan?

Yes it would, as it will have lost the syphonic action that. Clears the water at the end.

Thanks again mate. Was 99.9% sure that was what was happening but was dog tired. Customer is going to be well pleased as is the plumber who was there 3 days ago.

Thanks for the drawing will print that off.

Bet you find they have filled the hole with silicone!

Customer will not be impressed if they have. It`s an en-suite and the pan and the basin have "pretty" coloured artwork on both. Cira 1970`s ?

There is a pint on the bar with your name on it mate.

even if they have put the bomb back it has to be fitted correctly or it won't work, good news is, you show up with a Dudley turbo flush and the corresponding bomb from Dudley, you WILL BE the best plumber ever!

Interesting, there was a new Dudley syphon in the cistern! Didn`t look closely but it did have a Blue top, sounds right to you?

Yes, but it has to be used with the Dudley bomb.

You can pull the top off the dudleys, you should be able to look if there's a bomb fitted...?

Like it, thanks. Is it still the Yellow in you pull out and pull the rest out? Prob a stupid Q but I haven`t touched a syphon in 5yrs.

had an old victorion syphonic valve at xmas where the inlet fill had lost its plastic pipe off it beggaring the action of the valve, 30 second fix when I got it apart, having left it until the New Year to do the job for fear of finding a corroded mass of nuts etc. Had to sit around looking busy for a bit or the customer would have had a fit, having left her with only 7 loos to use!!!!!!!!!!!!!
