Hi there

Was wondering what the switch in this small man(Borrower)hole is? Is it the mains water switch?

Cheers

Yes m8. Looks like it. Is it on the drive of your house and does everyone else have one outside their house too? Just you may turn off more than your own house. Otherwise crack on. Do you not have a stop tap in doors undersink or in a cupboard? Could be, I suppose, the job you need to do.

Hi Duncan
Thanks for the reply. It's round the back of the house, and we're the final house on a row of semi-detached houses supplied by an old asbestos pipe. I guess that means it's most likely only for my house. Not sure if I have a stop tap, would that most likely be under sink then? Or even with the boiler?

It's a external stop tap it could be on your incoming supply to your property or maybe to a outbuilding ?? You really need to know where to isolate your incoming water supply incase of emergencies , so hunt around inside firstly under the kitchen sink , under floors near the front door , utility room ect that's your mission today 😂😂.
