Once upon a time... it goes like this, plumber 'n I thought we'd have some fun!

Competition to bend 22mm copper (table X) in hand bender without pressing one of the handles on floor or wall - i.e. using it like a chest expander. One for tough nuts and labourers - so we cut some equal lengths of 22mm and annealed one of them and polished them all up the same.

What a laugh.... you should've seen the labourers face! it was even funnier when we told him he'd been had....:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Feeling nostalgic tonight mate?

No no gentlemen you heat it till it has a blueish colour to the pipe let it cool naturally , the pipe will be softened making it easier to bend , I sometimes do it to hand bend the PRV pipe round a pressurised hot water cylinder. Kop

Putty guns were one of my favourites!!
Did it sting or what if you got hit.
I remember on a new build site as 1st year apprentice going to the stores & watching all the windows down the street opening & lengths of 15mm come sliding out, pointing toward you, that was when it was time to run fast & leave the cart behind.
