Got called to a gas inspection today,the landlord was very pleased with the new flat he had acquired,he went to great pain to tell me it had all the inspection hatches required for the boiler flue, to meet today new flues in voids regs ,so all should be ok
As I walked into the kitchenette /living room area,must admit ,that at first glance,looked the biz but the landlord looked worried as he saw the puzzled look on my face

As I had walked in the flat I noticed the flue termination.high to the right of the door,it was a keston flue,which made me miss a beat,when I walked into the room,the inspection hatches were going to the adjacent wall

Turns out the builder had got mixed up and had fitted inspection hatches,so not you could now check the extractor duct from the hob was Ok !! and the flue terminal remained un-inspectable

The Landlord got the builder on the phone who,not one to lay down and admit a stupid mistake then tried to tell me the flexible plastic extractor ducting was the boiler flue,he had followed from boiler!,as he wiggled and squirmed,I left landlord with a Co2 alarm and told him I felt confident his builder would correct the situation before the end of the year !!

:banghead::banghead::6:

Just goes to show that the builder knew better than you did, ho ho ho

excellent :sweatdrop: I am looking forward to these , I have a landlord who i do work for and he bought a new flat and he told me it was a simple job just to switch the boiler on , The flue elbow disappeared into a void with a nice brown stain on it , Also it needed a new fan I informed him he needed access panels putting in , Funny that he has not called since
