Hi guys, am running low on all my brass. So am wondering where you all buy yours from. Like the title of my post says, am really in need of some iron to copper fittings.

Anmy suggestions.

Cheers guys.

Also, where do you buy hep pipe from? It doesn't look like they sell it in plumbfix or toolstation. Or is speedfit just the same.

Thanks for all your advice so far.

Toolstation or heating world of spares for me. Cheap, cheerful and extremely functional.

I know a few guys who work for companies so can always get a few bits cheap. Dont you know anybody who works direct to a company??

Toolstation hey, i shall have to have a goosey gander. I did know someone but he has just been laid off. So that is why am asking.

I will have to try and make friends with someone else. Until then, toolstation.

Just another bit of advice guys... what Iron fittings do you carry on your van. As back up? I need to get a good stock. As recently, i have been on a few jobs in which iron has been very common. And so i have been backwards and forwards to plumb centre to buy parts for extreme amounts of money.

Today i have been at a job and the whole house was lead and iron. So i ripped it all out and am replacing what i can. Plumbing must have been extremely hard work back in the day with lead. So heavy. It also all seems extremely messy.

Just flopping all over the place

Only iron fittings I use and keep on van are to joing existing iron onto my new copper, so only ever use 1/2" male and femail, 3/4" m and f, and the odd 1" m and f.

Just get yourself the above then.
mainly 3/4" male and female irons, a few 1/2" male and female irons. And a couple 1" though you may never find 1".
Insist on end feed too from suppliers, as some will sell you compression, as you may need to connect under the floor etc and thats a no no with compression and gas.

Thanks mate. Right, off to bed now. Busy day tomorrow.

Thanks for all your help guys

Unless you're doing oil in which case 1" are common.

shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha this is why legitimate companies are suffering cause their guys are stealing their stuff and selling it their competitors, its just like you guys complaining of being undercut by the new boys in town,

Not stealing, I like to call it long term borrowing. :D
Anyway if i didnt buy it off them they would be down local tat yard anyway. I like to do my bit for the enviroment, keep recycling I say.
