TOILET CISTERN WATER INLET
LEAK
Toilet cistern leaking from water inlet flexi hose threaded pipe
section that goes into plastic nut bottom of cistern bowl. keeps dripping down
onto flexihose. Tried fornex ls-x to try and seal- not working.

Need to
change the flexi hose what dimensions do I need to measure on existing one so I
know what replacement flexi hose to ask for please.

looks like 15mm pipe
thickness, 25mm end connector nut size
and length 300mm
is there such a
flexihose available ?

Also is it ok to use fornex lsx on the threads
when fitting new one.

Regards,
Phil.

Hi there phill , it sounds like the leak is coming from where the inlet is attached to the cistern , flexis have rubber seals and it's not likely that as you've said the water is running down the plastic threading onto the flexi,
What to do is above the flexi there's a plastic nut against the base of the cistern, try giving that a little tighten and if that doesn't work then you'll need to empty cistern , disconnect the flexi and slacken the plastic nut just above the flexi, this will allow you to remove the ballcock and reseal with bit of ptfe tape or fast curing sealant , re assemble in reverse order, hope this helps ,
But if u need a flexi here u go

15mm x 1/2" x 300mm 9.5mm Bore Flexible Tap Connector - FTC15-12-30, - Supremeplumb.com

Water runs downhill so with dry tissue paper start at the highest point to find where leak is coming from as kris said it might be the cistern connection above the flexi.
If needed a smear of LSX is ok but too much and it can get inside the pipe or hose and restrict the water flow, sometime badly!

buy a hose and float valve from screwfix, change the hose, if the float thread is poor or seal to cistern leaking change both. If you dont use the float take it back to screwfix for a full refund.

If the thread and the mating surface is poor on the float valve pipe where the flexi joins it a brass 1/2" tap extension can save you replacing the float valve.

put fornex ls-x on upper part of thread of cistern pipe where flexi connect to cistern inlet pipe
and now water leaks out of the collar part of the flexihose below its nut so do you think flexi hose has the leak
measured thread that flexi connects to on citern pipe and seems to be 25mm
not sure which flexi to buy is it 15mm x 1/2 x 300mm or
22mm x 3/4 x 300mm
regards.

Sounds like you've over tightened the flexi just stick a new washer in it if possible

Change the float valve and smudge a bit of clear silicone round the rubber washer . The flexi will reseal as already said it has a rubber washer so likely to ok and either cross threaded or you unset the seal on the float valve.
