Which type Stat recommended for old lady?

Elderly lady has combi baxi he80 (8yrs old). mechanical time clock running slow. The boiler is in the garage on the side of the house . I wanted to make it easier to use without having to go to the garage. I was thinking of putting in a RF programme thermostat but was worried if it would get through 2-3 walls, to 8metres. Also did not want a multiple complicated programmer, just somthing easy to read and very Simple to understand.
Anyone with suggestions for compatible replacement.

Not much over 130 quid, you dont need a sparky and if VAT registered only 5% Vat to the customer on parts and labour
