I'm asking this as I'm installing them quite regularly now, well currently in the middle of doing my fourth, all since the summer.
The first I did was the Telford Tempest as I had maintained them before and they were the best value, actually cheaper than the likes of Main and Center Brand!
They look better than the former as well and I like how Telford just specialise in cylinders and still manufacture them in Telford!
However I quickly found out why they are so cheap, great performance but they don't even come with the male iron to copper connections you need for all of the threads, no full bore iso valve or even a drain off and the cylinder stats don't stick on very securely and seem quite flimsy. The outer case on them marks very easy too and isn't easy to clean unlike with the Megaflo I did which was much better quality all round and worth the extra cost in my opinion.
I also did a Telford Tornado which was a great design, expansion vessell screws into the top but concealed within the case. This was a very neat and space saving installation combined with Worcester 30 CDI system boiler and built in diverter valve kit so no need for zone valves or 10 way box on the wall!
The Megaflo I did was an instant favourite and phenomenal performance, I had over 25 litres per minute at the basin and bath on a 15mm main and 2.8 bar incoming pressure. The Megaflo seemed to boost the hot water more than the Telfords did? I know pipework is a big factor but one Telford with 22mm from incoming main to bath still only managed 18 litres per minute, perhaps the taps wern't the best at this house.
I'm currently in the middle of installing an Oso Super Coil which I love the look of! Looks amazing and innovative design with everything, including 2 expansion vessels, the inlet control kit, expansion prv and t&p valve all built into the top of the case! Pipework enters through the top rear with only the tundish on show from the front! I think this will be a favourite for customers concerned with pipes on show. Super quick installation too, comes with a template, like piping up a combi! Prisewise they are around in the middle, still closer to the Telford's than the Megaflo's.
I'll post some pics of my installations over the weekend.
What are your favourites? Gledhill's sound alright too, a good range, I'll probably do one of them soon as a local supplier stocks them. Hopefully they're better than the Telfords.
