Do manufacturers quote Heat Input in gross or net?

For example Worcester just quote say 1.59 m3/hr they dont say if it's gross or net?

Thanks

It depends on the age of the boiler the cut off was 2000... but suppliers and manufacturers could get rid of stock so after 2001 definately NET...

if in doubt and you have the manufacturers instructions to hand do a gas rate in m3/hr instead of a heat input in kW this has never changed.

hope this helps

older appliances quote HI, newer appliances quote NET HI so we know which is which from the data badge.

If it doesnt state then good practice is to take it as gross (its what i was taught)

Sorry missed the obvious info you gave 1.59m3/hr ... this is a gas rate not a heat input.
Quick conversion...
if you multiply the gas rate by 9.59 this will change it into a heat input net.
if you multiply the gas rate by 10.55 this will change it into a heat input gross.

these conversions are for a calorific value of 38mJ
