Why not a cuboid? Or a truncated cone? Zhush it up a bit, you know. Form over function, darlings.
 
A cylinder has the maximum structural strength from the least amount of material used in manufacture.
 
Cylinder is what it has been known since the beginning of time..... Or at least mine.
 
We introduced square pipe, or sqube, a couple of years ago.

None of you were terribly impressed.

Because most of us would have to expand our vocabulary and we would be in a position to expand the vocabulary of others.....unnecessarily.
