Why does our toilet take ages too fill up once its flushed is there something which has been changed

Can you increase the pressure of the filler on the inside? Or maybe a ball valve on the under side of the inlet. Should be able turn that a tiny bit to increase fill rate of toilet.

Has it always been slow or has it gradually got worse over weeks / months / years.

It could be debris blocking the inlet valve, or if it's a later traditional type ball valve and float, the washer could have hardened and not allow the valve to fully open.

Can you post a photo of the inside of the toilet cistern

Sounds like a siamp inlet valve. Picture would be good.
