Hello -

I have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar System Boiler. I have a simple Honeywell programmer at the boiler to programme both HW and Heating. I have a Honeywell CM67 programmable roomstat. I have a hot water cylinder with cylinder-stat. All works well but having a WB 30i system condensing boiler (not hot water on demand through a combi) I have to override the HW programmer settings if I want more HW outside the timed period (and then often forget to switch back from constant to timed wasting £)

I also have enough unpredictability in my schedule to benefit from a Wifi connected SMARTSTAT. Tado claims to be the easiest for self-install but I would appreciate any feedback on.... Best Wifi connected room stat with HW programmer Those to avoid Best for ease of non-professional self-install Many thanks for anything you can offer.

Would go with nest tbh

also how’s your electrical knowledge/ handy ness ?

Thanks for the reply ShaunCorbs. My electrical knowledge of mains electrics is good. With a diagram indicating signal wires etc for boiler connections I’m fairly confident. I guess I’d be removing basic programed and replacing with a relay/module plus replacing roomstat with smartstat. It seems that HW control complicates matters. Am I on thevright lines before I jump in and is a Nest with HW control a good way to go? Or with HW control is it beyond a good competent diyer. Thanks

Your on the right lines best thing to do is to put the relay / nest box where the wiring centre is and use some 5 or 6 core cable to wire it in

Cheers. Which will be the ‘wiring centre’ , the old programmer or this wiring box in the cylinder cupboard that connects boiler cylinder stat and mid-port valve 👍
