I have an apartment which has a boiler and a gas hob in the kitchen.

The gas cert has been passed for the 5 years with brittish gas and last year it was certified by another gas engineer because he was a bit cheaper.

When the certification had to be carried out this year a different gas engineer would not pass it,

His reason was that from the gas meter under the stairs there is a 15mm pipe that goes to the boiler and the tee's off for the hob and he has told me it is undersized.

This has been the same system for years and has passed the test every time.

Has there been new regulations introduced and if so what would they be?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What boiler, what hob, how far from meter to tee, tee to hob and tee to boiler? How many bends on each run of gas pipe work?

It's only undersized if your boiler/Hob are not getting the correct amount of gas, did he do any pressure tests or just look at pipework ??

I bet he did test the pressures, wet himself and issued the ar/id ticket. Just someone doesnt like the truth. I ARed an lpg set up last week that had passed for 10 years, cyls over an open drain and outside a window, plus the pipework was leaking, as the gas inlet on the boiler had an olive joint rather than a fibre washer on the flat comp end!!!!!!!!
Lady custard was miffed, but accepted the need for change, she got onto her previous techie whilst I was there, good way to learn a few new words :) I just got on with laying a new gas line and fitting the right washer. A non gas issue was the copper condesate drain, bit leaky :):):)

it one thing thinking its undersized and unsafe, did the engineer prove it is?

Are you trying to say BG got it wrong ! my god what next, America didn't land on the moon ?
