Will this be seen on sale survey?

So went to look at some plumbing that needs doing at a house before sale and found this.

Needs to be put right hey as I am sure it won't pass. Surely BC didn't sign it off or probably doesn't know about it.

I've come across this a few times and was told to put a 110 bottle trap on it as it was only top water from driveway open grill ACO style drains and not sewerage. And to either re-do the drains or blank off and remove the WC if it was from a toilet.

All depends on the level of survey being done, the cheap one to satisfy the lender can be a simple drive by and compare past sales in that road for valuation whilst a full blown survey is everything including the household electrics. Just sold mine and it was a drive by estimate with photos of the rooms inside, she was in and out in under 10 minutes.

It's pretty much like what you have in the pic but not very well designed. They have the drop at the upstream end directly over the channel and a steeper more sculptured benching. Usually found in a series of 2 or more on steep inclines to get the waste away on slopes as it would be too steep to lay the drain at that angle so it would be prone to backing up.

Hi. Thanks for clearing this up. So this is allowed? So I can just drop it a bit further down and slope it at an angle into the gulley internally. Looks like it when looking this up?

No we do have sealed chambers now days. It is just that we still have building & therefore drainage systems older than when we kicked you out to go populated that far distant land you call home.

Anyway your drainage systems will always be different OZ cos it goes down in a different direction down under, don't it.

Agree that this is legacy work.

What I have seen that is worse, though, is a conventional brick inspection chamber like this one, but built with plastic 110mm pipe instead of clay. As such, the pipe does not stick properly to the concrete benching and so at least some of any splashed water running off the benching must be getting behind the plastic instead of falling into the sewer pipe itself. Doesn't seem right somehow.
