hi there

got a customer who has a Danfoss FP715 programmer unit and wants a wireless thermostat (currently has no room thermostat). Is there anything on the market that will do the jo, or does the programming unit need to be changed to something more compatible?

cheers

so i am going to have to replace the existing programmer?
Not unless you want a programmable wireless room stat, even then you can retain the danfoss programmer to control HW and set it in constant for heating, the programmable room stat will alow you to set different temps for different periods of the day.

Blimey

All sounds a little out of my depth here! Think im going to need to get a sparky in to do this.

So just to clarify, in an ideal world if the customer wants a programmable wireless thermostat im going to have to change the programmer. If this is the case, as the customer has a danfos cylinder stat, what would you reccomend i suggest to the customer?

(sorry to be a pain here, am new to the game, first time ive been asked this and have noooo clue!)

cheers

No problem Andy, we all have to start at some time. If your customer wants a programmable room thermostat (which is really designed for use with a combi boiler) but your customer has a system boiler, then retain the FP715 to control the HW side and wire the wireless receiver to the heating side of the FP715 but select Heating ON (24 Hour) then let the programmable Room thermostat control the heating times & temp periods, easier to do that to describe LOL Hope this helps,
Martin.

I agree abut retaining the FP715 for HW control. However there is a danger, if you wire the receiver via the FP715 CH ON terminal, that someone will, without realizing the implications, turn the CH OFF at the FP715. It's much safer if the receiver is fed from the L and N terminals of the FP715.

It's a simple task to move the wire from the CH ON terminal to the L terminal on the FP715 backplate.
