Probably will, but depends what else there is between transmitter and receiver. For example, if there is steel reinforcement in the concrete, and / or the signal has to pass through other metal objects (such as fridge or the boiler itself), then much more doubtful.
Why not try it and see if its OK. If not then its worth taking some insulated wire, (single, for example stripped out of a cable). Form a loose coil at one end and secure it under the body of the receiver, with NO electrical connection. Run the end up the wall or along it as necessary. This provides an additional "aerial" for the receiver and enables it to respond to a weaker signal.
I've used this several times where the transmitter and receiver were too far apart, and its worked well. It also works well on garage door openers!
