Hi chaps,

I've been asked to fit a wireless room stat for a customer. I've not done one of these before. Are they easy to set-up and get going??

Cheers
rob

easy peasy just follow the instruction before you do anything read right through as on some the order in which you perform certain tasks is important in particular dont pull the plasic slips out of the batteries not that i did on my first one oh no not me
wiring is pretty basic stuff L N AND A SWITCH PAIR

they are easy to do,even easier if its a worcester boiler, straight onto boiler face,no l,n feeds

Cheers, but what is there to wire-up on a wireless stat?

Do you have to wire up a receiver box near the boiler?

Thanks
Rob

Depends on the set up, one I did was easy only took an hour, took off the old stat customer didn't want any more decorating to do so put the relay box there. Wireless room stat went into the living room.

Next one had to wire it directly into the airing cupboard followed destructions on zone valve.

However, the next one on a gravity system, thats a whole other story......

you can get wirless cylinder thermostats, for anyone who is converting gravity system ,fitting motorised valve near boiler and difficult wiring run, cost about £100 :)

The receiver does need 230v to power the electronics. It can be either near the boiler or near the wiring centre for the motorized valve.

The transmitter (control unit) is battery operated.
