Hi guys. I have a friend with some holiday rentals. They all have a combi in the attic and a wireless RF stat set up. He’s wanting to make them all so he can turn the heating down after the customer has left from his house using the net. Is there a quick solution or will a cable need bringing down from the attic for the base.

Hive can be installed without a hard wired connection into the loft. For remote operation the property would need wifi.

There are other options, at similar prices (circa £250).

Unlikely to be cost effective, if it is only required to switch the heating off remotely.

It will be just a matter of swapping the transmitter unit that is wired into the boiler, plugging the hub into a spare Ethernet port in the broadband router & swapping the wireless stat receiver for the WiFi one.
Should not have to run any extra cable as the old wireless transmiter will all ready have a 4 core L.N.C.SL.&E cable to it.

Thanks Darren. Much appreciated
