Hello fellow plumbers. can anybody give me some advice on how to wire this room stat. http://www.glow-worm.co.uk/products/...structions.pdf. if you look at this page it only shows one wire going into the block but i want to know do you put both wires from the transmitter into the block and which block is for the common and which block is for the call? The transmitter has a L & N and a live in and live out.

Well it shows low voltage connection on page 36 and normal voltage on page 37
you could use both but would advise the low voltage option, more protection for the boiler

you have following terminals
Main live and neutral this is the mains supply to operate unit and relay, this curcuit does not go into the boiler, just the unit
then you have
live in and live out
using the low voltage connection on boiler link cable from low voltage block on boiler to the two outlets on room stat controler (L in-L out ) it does not matter which way round really but you can use your tester to check if you wish to go by the book
if you want to use the mains supply connection, link live connection in control unit box, to live in connection then run cable from Live out to mains connection as detailed on page 37 (Terminal 50)
But as said above would advise using low voltage side and lable cable in box, low vlotage for future referance

so what your saying is the live and neutral supply is just for the transmitter and the live in and live out is low voltage. On the spec for the et3 it does say output 24...240vac. have you fitted this combo before?

yes that is correct

and the live in and live out is low voltage.

the live in and out is a seperate curcuit so can be 24v or 240v

I have fitted the wireless state before no problem,ok unit, not to the boiler,as I would never install the beta com

The reason I use low voltage were possible is because although glow worm is British, many of the parts are made abroard and 240v can be a bit high for thier componants, although will work over a period of time can overheat and burn componants out
