worcester 240 RSF combi boiler.

boiler is as above and has recently had a service kit ( diaphragm etc) changed in the diveter valve which I am told was due to a problem with it passing.

Now after the hot water is run which works fine, the pump and fan continue to run for a long while after and its quite loud ( the pump is hot and the fan can be heard running at full speed )
there is also a sound as if water is still passing around the appliance,
the noise is quite loud but doesnt actually sounbd like overheating at all and no faults or overheats trip out.

any ideas. cheers

I'm pretty sure on that model the pump runs after demand for hot water to disperse heat.

Yes, i believe the 240 does have a pump over run, however the pump runs continously after a demand as does the fan on full speed. it also has quite a loud sound ( sounds as though it is hot water running ( but there is no taps running )
?

The 240 'dumps' it's excess heat into the C/H circuit so you will find that the pump continues to run for a short period of time. Fan shouldn't run and the burner should shut down also. It maybe that the diverter is sticking in h/w mode even though tap is turned off, worth checking? If that's the case then new diverter required I'd say.
