HI
I am going to get an engineer to take a look at my boiler shortly but want to ensure that i am not being ripped off as it has happened in the past. So any information greatly received.
The boiler is no longer supplying hot water to the taps, When the taps are turned on the light comes on on the boiler and it appears to fire up but the water from the tap is either stone cold or luke warm. The rads are getting hot and work OK but they are on all the time regardless of whether the timer states on or off the only way to turn them off is to turn the boiler completely off and turn back on. But after 30 mins or so the boiler kicks in and starts heating the rads continuously.
The pressure gauge is reading 0, if i pressurize the system up to the 1.5 bar as recommended we get hot water from the taps for a very short time then it goes cold. The pressure only lasts for around 4-5 hours then goes back down to 0. Cannot see any signs of a leak etc.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. don't want an engineer to come in and say the boiler is scrap if it is repairable.
Cheers
