Hi lads,

At a call out on the above boiler, pressure guage stuck (to be replaced)

Hot water was OK before I started, CH would come on for about 20 secs then go off, checked pump etc, what I did notice is the pump kept powering on and off within seconds constantly on and off

Even with demand off pump was clicking on off

Then hot water would work, when making demand there would be no 240 to fan, when stopping demand there would be 240

It makes me think PCB, also there is a leak at a seal ontop of pump connection, I think I should replace that too (pump)

Anything else on these boilers which is a nuisance and could be linked il replace also so if you guys know please share!

Merci

Whole boiler is nuisance . Loads of room to get your hands in! Water flow switch is above pump and leaks, this may also be causing problems if connections are wet?

Had problems with boiler pin holes at corners on plastic hydroblock in past.

Check the stupid white nut thingy off top of pump, push the tab towards back of boiler (tightens union)

Thought pcb s on these were not all that bad? Have you checked that the mains lead coming in is in good condition and has a good connection both at boiler and fused spur ?

Wrong boiler.

Hate those wee things. Pain. Last two I have been at it was the board. Similar symptoms as you describe. They are getting on a wee bit in age now. Probably reaching the manufacturers expected life end. Been at a few of these that have been a pain to diagnose.

They are a bit of an pain these. In fact, I'm not keen on any of the Worcester boilers about this age. I had to work on an Si and an Si II the other day. Didn't like them. Sounds like pcb, have you rung Worcester tech?

PCB pal, fan relay swithes on Neutral so power readings are strange, also the pump TOP washer is NOT standard, it is thicker order via worecester, or it will leak after a few heat cycles and blow pump, pump surges due to Pump over run stat when hex is above 60. remember the hex is bi thermic
