what a nightmare,i changed the diverter valve the bypass would not go far enough into filling loop enabling me to put the flimbsy piece of u shaped rod to lock it in,next the water to water heat ex the top right hand fixing i give it one turn to many and the screw snapped leaving the threaded part in the plastic flow assembly, all this is at 8o'clock tonight ,i managed to get a clamp and squeezed together stopping the leak, any ideas on how i can fix this other than replacing the flow assembly appreciated, and to top it off i had a plastic drip box that i kicked sending brown warm fluid all over the ladys white(well cream) carpet

if its only a screw snapped of in a female thread, drill out the broken screw, and use an extractor to remove it and use anoth bolt/screw to resecure it.

not sure what you mean there but you take said sheared off bolt/screw drill a piot hole in it, enlarge pilot hole and use a stud extractor of appropriate size to wind out the duff bolt/screw.
