Hi I have a Worcester 28i junior boiler and this morning I ran the hot tap for a few minutes and the water came out scolding hot.i then couldn't get anymore hot water so I left it for an hour and the hot water came out again but again It is now scolding. I did a bit of research online and seems like this could be the pump or maybe the main heat cell? I read a good test for the pump is to remove the silver cap and place a flat headed screwdriver in there too see if it spins. It did spin when the boiler was running and I was also able to turn the screw inside so the pump isn't completely seized or anything. The pump is hot to touch though as is the main heat exchanger.

Ive now put the case back on and won't be doing anything else but I just wanted to get a bit of advice on here before I get a gasman out and pay a fortune. The water is constantly scolding but the boiler sounds fine, is this the pump not loosing the heat or isit something else? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

If we gave you advice youd certainly try and save some money and fix it yourself the problem being your not trained your not competent to work on gas and this is when accidents can happen . Best phone local gasafe registered engineer and enjoy the weekend weather.

MrD1986 your problem is way beyond any things you have seen on internet
It is quite obvious you are unskilled and are looking in all the wrong places

Please get a gas safe engineer in - W/B boilers are not that expensive to fix just bite the bullett

centralheatking - this should be moderated he has taken the case off QUOTE=MrD1986;662290]Hi I have a Worcester 28i junior boiler and this morning I ran the hot tap for a few minutes and the water came out scolding hot.i then couldn't get anymore hot water so I left it for an hour and the hot water came out again but again It is now scolding.
