Hi all. Just signed up to this forum to ask some questions so all new to me. I have a Greenstar 30si boiler at the moment which is about 11 years old. Recently had problems with central heating system pressure and so a GSE changed the pressure relief valve and expansion vessel which involved removing the boiler from the wall. Then when he was setting the system up he found all sorts of other problems I suppose because I'd never had the boiler serviced ever, which ended up costing around £700 in total. System has been fine for quite a few months after this but has recently started leaking water from somewhere behind the boiler without the pressure dropping in the central heating system. It appears to be running down the braided flexible pipe which goes up the back of the boiler to the expansion vessel. If the boiler needs to come off again to fix this it is probably going to cost more money than I'm prepared to throw at this boiler and feel I'd much rather spend my money on a new boiler. Worcester Bosch tech help have advised I fit a 36cdi to replace this boiler to give a bit more flow as the bath doesn't fill up very quickly with the 30si. My question is, when the engineer changes the boiler, will the pipework to the new mounting frame be the same as the existing frame for the 30si? I'm assuming the frame will have to come off and be replaced with the frame for the new boiler but will all the pipework stay the same?

Question if it's coming from the braided hose, it's coming from the expansion vessel so get the engy back who did the works as it's leaking from one of his joints

Just a thought - if it's leaking from the expansion vessel wouldn't that show a reduction in CH system pressure on the gauge? I'm loosing a lot of water which I'm catching in a tray but the system pressure stays at just over 1 bar.

Sometimes the gauge can get blocked so it stays even when empty

But get the guy back to have a look even if it's for an estimated cost

34cdi would suit you there will be alterations to make obviously things have come on in 12 years , try a repair if not to expensive but it's near the end of it's life expectancy so plan for a replacement.cheers kop
